Jacopo De Nicola joins the Clarke family
Italian born, Philadelphia based singer, songwriter Jacopo De Nicola is now a Clarke artist. He performs exclusively with the Clarke XL Kazoo which he chose for it’s distinctive sound and great craftsmanship.
Jacopo mixes a brew of old and new world influences into an explosive sonic cocktail. Continuing the tradition of the Italian Cantautori and powered by a solid World/Gypsy rhythmic pulse, his music charms the listener with infectious upbeat tunes as well as introspective serenades. This eclectic repertoire is punctuated by tasteful kazoo lines that have become a distinctive trait of his live performances.
His band ‘The Late Saints’, bring on stage their genre-bending Italian Gypsy Rock. Treading a path between the lyrical nuances of the Italian Cantautori and the frenetic rhythms a la Manu Chao and Gogol Bordello, this Philly-based trio takes the audience on a journey across Balkan influenced two-steps, Latin American Tropicalia, poignant protest songs and re-appropriated and “Italianized” pop covers.
